Fishtail palms are named so for their unusual leaves; shaped like a jagged fish tail with a ruffled appearance. They are clustering palms and grow dense. Outside they can grow to about 25 feet in the right climate and conditions. Eventually mature stems will flower and die back afterwards. It does well in containers when young and acclimate well to the indoors where it will grow even slower than outside.

It lends a tropical yet very elegant look to a room.

This is a moderate grower. Trim brown leaves as they occur if they bother you.

Regular watering.

Use well-draining soil that doesn’t stay overly wet.

They like humidity do don’t keep it in a dry environment.

Bright light-indirect.

Fertilize with a palm fertilizer (available in the store)

Local pick-up is an option/delivery is an option.

FAQs

When will my plants ship?

We do our best to ship orders within 7 days of purchase, however, our timelines on shipping do fluctuate throughout the seasons depending on whether its "busy season" or even temperature in your area.

We spend the time picking the best plants in the greenhouse, inspect them for bugs or disease, and pack them safely for their trip to your home.

If we need to hold your plant due to low temperature we will communicate with you.

Do you ship if its cold where I live?

We recommend you purchase heat pack(s) if your area is experiencing daytime highs below 45 degrees in the next week. If temps are at freezing we will ship as even heat packs can be rendered useless.

If you have selected UPS Ground shipping it is and the plant may be traveling through colder states to get to you, a heat pack is advised. 2 if larger plant

Additionally, if you would like your order held to ship at a later date, simply reply to the order confirmation email and let us know for how long you'd like us to hold your order. We do our best to honor every hold request that's made before your plant has already shipped!

Do you ship internationally?

Due to plant import regulations and time in transit we only ship within the USA. In very rare cases where requests are made and permits secured can we ship internationally.
