The Lady palm - Rhapis Excelsa is popular, easy and hardy. It has palmate, or fan-shaped, leaves that grow on unarmed petioles up to 1-2ft long. Leaves are deeply divided into 4-10 segments, never overlap but are slightly offset. The Lady Palm fronds are dark green when grown in shade to a light green when grown with more sunlight. This is a variegated Japanese variety so be careful with too much light. As the lower leaves grow old, they turn from glossy and green to dull and discolored. You should trim them off for an attractive appearance. The Lady Palm has less than 8 to 10 leaflets per leaf with saw-toothed ends.

Keep the temperature between 50°-70° degrees F. (Older plants will stand 18° degrees F.)

Partial sunlight to shade.

Moist soil. Water throughly and let drain. A container grown Rhapis will have its roots at the bottom of the pot, so
“finger testing” the top will not give you a correct indication of the dry/wetness of the soil. It’s important that the roots are watered but not kept soggy.

Doesn’t need a lot of fertilizer.

This palm is a slow grower.

Rare variegated rhapis.

FAQs

When will my plants ship?

We do our best to ship orders within 7 days of purchase, however, our timelines on shipping do fluctuate throughout the seasons depending on whether its "busy season" or even temperature in your area.

We spend the time picking the best plants in the greenhouse, inspect them for bugs or disease, and pack them safely for their trip to your home.

If we need to hold your plant due to low temperature we will communicate with you.

Do you ship if its cold where I live?

We recommend you purchase heat pack(s) if your area is experiencing daytime highs below 45 degrees in the next week. If temps are at freezing we will ship as even heat packs can be rendered useless.

If you have selected UPS Ground shipping it is and the plant may be traveling through colder states to get to you, a heat pack is advised. 2 if larger plant

Additionally, if you would like your order held to ship at a later date, simply reply to the order confirmation email and let us know for how long you'd like us to hold your order. We do our best to honor every hold request that's made before your plant has already shipped!

Do you ship internationally?

Due to plant import regulations and time in transit we only ship within the USA. In very rare cases where requests are made and permits secured can we ship internationally.

Are you licensed?

Yes, we are a licensed nursery in the state of Florida.
